Description

The Project Setup/Business Analyst collaborates with and assists both internal and external clients to setup the most recommended project structure to satisfy billing, revenue and project management requirements. Internal clients include Project Lead, Project Setup Analyst III, Revenue Analyst, Contract Management Services (CMS), Billers and representatives from Accounting & Finance. The Project Set-Up Analyst must exercise sound judgment and possess strong problem solving skills in performing duties while complying with established policies and procedures.

Job Summary / Responsibilities

  • Effectively, timely and accurately setup new nodes in various systems.
  • Collaborate with Project Setup Lead to devise a Project structure that facilitates billing, revenue and provides meaningful financial management information and reporting.
  • Understand and accurately interpret contract document(s) as it relates to project set up, billing and revenue.
  • Maintain projects in the hierarchical Costpoint structure based on project requirements and in compliance with the Company’s set up rules to ensure the proper billing and recognition of revenue.
  • Setup and maintain new Costpoint interface nodes in GFAS and cross coder systems.
  • Reconcile and maintain project setup data integrity among all applications dependent on Costpoint (GFAS, Cross coder, TESS).
  • Research and troubleshoot system configuration discrepancies related to project setup and revenue recognition.
  • Support billing functions as necessary (invoice creation, analyze unbilled transactions, reconcile billed vs. revenue and any other ad-hoc support and analysis).
  • Assist with reconciling subledger to general ledger for unbilled, revenue, AR control accounts.
  • Work with revenue analyst to assist with month end revenue review, report creation and recons.
  • Assist with billing/reporting formats and work with the reporting (CER) group to create reports needed for revenue, billing and project setup.
  • Familiarity with GSA schedules and all contract types preferred.
  • Costpoint knowledge, preferable Project Set up and revenue functions. Ability to identify key contractual information that affects Costpoint structure.
  • Understanding of Revenue and Billing formulas and impact on monthly financial statements.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, establish priorities, work independently.
  • Proficient in excel creating pivot tables, vlookups, data extracts and maintaining spreadsheets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent - Finance, Business Administration or Related Field.
• 3-5 years of progressively responsible financial analysis. 

• Science or health-related field experience preferred.
• Hands on Costpoint experience required.

• TM1 and Cognos reporting experience preferred.

• Good interpersonal skills, reliable, resourceful, motivated and a fast learner.

• Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO).
